Flags are ordered to fly at half-staff in Hawaiʻi from sunrise until sunset on Thursday, July 7, 2022. This order is being issued in memory of the late former state legislator Patsy Kikue Miyahara Young, for the day of her memorial service.

Young served in the State House of Representatives for three years before being elected to the State Senate in 1974. She served in the Senate until 1988. Young was the first woman to serve in a leadership position in the State Senate as vice president.

Note – the flags are already at half-staff honoring victims of the Highland Park shooting until sunset on Saturday, July 9.

今日の日の出から7日（木曜日）の日没までの間、ハワイでは半旗が掲げられます。この指示は、亡くなられた元州議会議員パッツィー・キクエ・ミヤハラ・ヤング氏の死を悼み、同氏の葬式の日のためのものです。ヤング氏は、1974年に州上院議員に選出される前には州下院議員を3年間務めました。そして1988年まで上院で活躍されました。ヤング氏は、州上院で副議長として指導的立場となった最初の女性です。
