21 years ago today, the Japanese-fishery high-school training ship Ehime Maru sank ten minutes after it was struck by the USS Greeneville. We honored the memory of the nine lives that were lost that day in a small ceremony at the Ehime Maru memorial at Kaka’ako Waterfront Park.

21年前の今日、日本の水産高等学校の実習船えひめ丸がアメリカ海軍の潜水艦グリーンビルに衝突されて10分後に沈没しました。私たちはカカアコ・ウォーター・パークにあるえひめ丸記念碑で小さなセレモニーを行い、あの日に失われた9人の命を悼みました。
