私はこの国において大きな痛みがあることを理解しています。たくさんの人々が失業しています。たくさんの人々が、夜、天井を見つめながら「明日、どうしよう？」と考えながら、お腹を空かせているのです。だから私は、必要とされている救済を届けるためにアメリカン・レスキュー計画を通過させるように議会に頼んでいるのです。
I see enormous pain in this country. A lot of folks are out of work. A lot of folks are going hungry, staring at the ceiling at night wondering, “What am I going to do tomorrow?” That’s why I’m urging Congress to pass the American Rescue Plan and deliver much-needed relief.
