PSD has put out a warning. Scammers have recently been calling Hawaiʻi residents claiming to be a Deputy Sheriff, an employee of the Hawaiʻi District Attorney’s Office, or in some cases, someone from the governor’s office.

Oftentimes they say there’s an outstanding arrest warrant and the caller instructs them to pay through gift cards or money sharing apps to clear the warrant. Sometimes, the phone is even spoofed to look like it’s calling from an official number. Don’t fall for it.

The Sheriffs and Governor’s office do not call, text, or email people asking for personal information to solicit payment or call by phone for arrest warrants. If you receive a scam call like this, alert the Sheriff division by calling 808-586-1352.

ハワイ州公衆安全局は警告を発表しました。詐欺グループが副保安官やハワイ州検察事務所の職員、または州政府の職員などと名乗ってハワイ住民に電話をかけているそうです。彼らは逮捕状が発行されていると言って、逮捕を無効にするためにはギフトカードや送金アプリを利用して送金するように指示してくるそうです。時には、公式の電話番号からかけられているように見せかけることもあるようです。どうか騙されないでください。

保安官事務所や州政府機関は電話をしたり、テキストメッセージを送ったり、電子メールを送って個人情報を尋ねたり、支払いを要求したり、逮捕状の連絡をすることがありません。もしこのような詐欺電話を受け取ったら、保安官事務所（電話番号808-586-1352）に連絡してください。
